Mad Catz has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the United States. The company, which is based in San Diego, have been making gaming accessories for 28 years and were most recently involved in constructing controllers for Rock Band 4 in 2015.

The Chapter 7 filing potentially indicates that the company are not looking for a buyer or look to reform at a later date. The company was officially shut down on March 30, which was also the day the company began selling its assets, with the filing occurring on April 3. In 2016, the firm’s DEO and Chairman both resigned and a third of the staff were made redundant.
