The date was officially confirmed during the Nintendo Switch Presentation.
Nintendo have confirmed the release date for the new Legend of Zelda title. Available on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on March 3 – the same day as the Switch.
The date was confirmed by Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima, who teased the date with a short exchange between Reggie Fils-Amié from Nintendo of America, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto, before a new trailer was shown at the event.
In the new clip, Link is shown travelling through various regions of Hyrule as it now exists. A narration details how Ganon has taken control of the land and how 100 years has passed with no hope of ending the Calamity’s powerful hold on Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be available on Nintendo Switch and Wii U from March 3. Watch the new trailer below.
