Hitman 2 has been officially announced by IO Interactive. Set for release in November, the next instalment of the espionage franchise will once again follow Agent 47 as he travels the globe to hunt down the elusive Shadow Client and unravel the power of his militia once and for all.
For Hitman 2, IO Interactive will be partnering with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. Discussing the collaboration, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment President David Haddad said “We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on Hitman 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate Hitman fanbase and new players. IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in much larger sandbox locations”. IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak also revealed that Hitman 2 will introduce “…exciting new features, new modes and franchise firsts to make for a larger and richer game.”
The first of these new modes to be revealed was Sniper Assassin. A first for the series, this mode can be played either solo or co-op with a second player to take down assassination targets. Players who pre-order any edition of Hitman 2 will be able to play this mode instantly, with Early Access available to those who pre-order the upcoming Collectors and Gold Editions of the game.
