Gaming News – The Game Awards Nominees Announced

Uncharted 4 leads this year’s contest with seven nominations.

The nominees for The Game Awards 2016 have been announced. Due to be held in Los Angeles on December 1st, the awards celebrate the best games of the past year with fans and critics voting across the 24 categories. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End leads this year’s field with seven nominations – including three in the Best Performance Category – while Firewatch and Inside both have five nominations each and Overwatch picked up four nods.

Along with the awards shortlist came the announcement that Hideo Kojima will be presented with the Industry Icon Award at the ceremony. Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards said of Kojima; “Hideo Kojima is one of our industry’s most accomplished and innovative storytellers. When we started work on this year’s Game Awards, my first priority was to make sure we honor him properly in front of his peers and fans.”
