For Honor

Announced last year at E3 with a multi-player demo, For Honor returned to the Ubisoft conference with a first look at the single player campaign. In the game, players can choose to be part of one of three factions – Vikings, Knights and Samurai – who are fighting in an ongoing war for control of the land. Watching from afar is the warlord Apollyon, who is also trying to destroy the factions.

For the presentation, players were given a look at one of the Viking campaign missions. Starting with a cinematic of longboats making a storm crossing, the demo began with the playable character disembarking and leading the charge against a samurai stronghold. Showcasing the ranged combat, melee weapons on both sides and close quarter fighting, the mission culminates in a one on one fight with the samurai leader in an arena style location. After the demo, the game’s official release date was announced – February 14 2017 – along with information on how to register for the game’s upcoming alpha and beta sessions.

For Honor will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from February 14 2017. Players can register for the alpha at forhonor.ubisoft.com. Watch the gameplay demo below.
