Players can now create their own realms with the Realms package and have their friends come in, build and share content with each other, regardless of who is online at any given time.

There was also the announcement of new texture packs and add ons, allowing players to create vast cityscapes and modifying anyone with in any environments – such as the altered zombie characters shown in the live demonstration and the villagers who are now able to fight them and assist the player.
