Halo goes Global
One of the most anticipated titles for Xbox this year is Halo 5: Guardians. For those at Gamescom, there will be the chance to take on the multiplayer challenges in Warzone. This arena based multiplayer gives gamers the chance to face off in 4 on 4 combat across different maps and challenge types. To give it a good run though, the game makers invited two of the top Halo teams – Epsilon eSports and Optic Gaming – to try out Warzone in a face off for supremacy and bragging rights.
At the conference, this battle came to a head with a 3 round Capture the Flag contest – with live commentary from Andy ‘Bravo’ Dudynsky and Richard ‘The Simms’ Simms helping everyone keep score (Epsilon won after the time ran out) – on the world première of the Colosseum map. The duo also unveiled the special 1TB Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One console which is available for pre-order now ahead of the October release.
Also at the conference was the confirmation that there would be Halo World Championships later this year and – as an extra bonus – fans had their first ever glimpse of a new chapter in the story with the announcement, by 343 Industries’ Bonnie Ross, of Halo Wars 2 which will come to Xbox One and Windows 10 in late 2016.
