#YouRule, Grass Effect and Yarny Returns.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if The Sims were real, the EA gave us a little glimpse with a short video showing what would happen if that were the case. A hot tub in a library, new friends galore and frenemies starting an epic food fight were just some of the delights to behold in the clip. There was also a little dance party on stage as Rachel Franklin had her own #YouRule moment – inspired in part by the announcement of the upcoming Get Together expansion pack for The Sims 4. Taking Sims to the new community of Windenburg, it encourages player to go with their friends – or make some new ones there – with a whole host of new activities and social options to explore.
For Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, EA announced some new plant character classes to go along with the zombie character classes announced at E3. The sorceress Rose, popcorn bomb loving Colonel Corn and the futuristic bounty hunter Citron join the chaos of this popular franchise. This time around, the Zombies are in control and the plants are on the offensive all around the world – and also on the moon – as they embark from the Backyard Battleground. To help the zombies out will be a pre-order exclusive. Inspired by the Grass Effect parody, the Z7 Mech will be a part of Garden Warfare 2 when it comes to console in 2016.
Stepping on stage to rapturous applause was Unravel‘s Martin Sahlin. With his trusty Yarny doll in hand, he spoke about the fan reaction to their preview at E3 – along with some adorable fan art and homemade Yarny figures – and how this has motivated them to make sure the game is the best it can possibly be while retaining it’s heart. A live demo accompanied Sahlin’s speech as he spoke more about how the aim of them game is to connect people to this world, based on the game’s homeland of Sweden, while working their way across it. Using a combination of strategy, physics and a little bit of reflection thrown in, this platformer was a highlight of E3 and looks to be one to watch out for in the future.
