Ten years since its last season, the animated sci-fi comedy series, Futurama will be making its comeback this July.

After its original run on the Fox Broadcasting Network and its revival at Comedy Central, Futurama’s newest season will be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+. Episodes of the Emmy award-winning series will be released weekly, every Monday from the 24th of July.

All of the original cast will be returning for the 11th series, including John DiMaggio as Bender. During February 2022, shortly after Hulu’s Futurama season 11 announcement, DiMaggio posted that he wouldn’t be returning as the bold as brass robot due to pay disputes. The accomplished voice actor initially didn’t receive the financial recognition he wanted, but has since signed his contract regardless and joined his co-stars Billy West (Philip J. Fry, Professor Farnsworth and Doctor Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Turanga Leela), Phil LaMarr (Hermes Conrad) and Lauren Tom, who voices Amy Wong.

Discussing the cast, co-creator David X. Cohen stated, For the fourth time, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thrill to be back with our entire original cast and the phenomenal animators of Rough Draft Studios.”

Back in February, Hulu announced that there would be twenty episodes. Season 11 currently has ten episodes lined up to be released, which hints to another season in the future. Some of the episode titles include: ‘Zapp Gets Cancelled’ and ‘I Know What You Did Last Xmas’,  teasing that viewers will get to enjoy how the show interprets current topics in the context of thirty-first century, whilst also developing recurring characters such as the evil Robot Santa.

The show’s creators, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, have promised the season will also answer fan questions. For example, what the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box is and the location of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles. In addition, they stated that there will be long awaited developments in Fry and Leela’s epic romance.
