Epic Games has unveiled the Fortnite Mega Drop, which looks to lower the cost of the in-game currency, V-Bucks.
Used to purchase cosmetics and other in-game items, V-Bucks are available to buy on all platforms for set prices. However, those playing on mobile devices have found that their costs are higher as Google and Apple add fees to transactions to cover processing costs.
Currently, a pack of 1000 V-Bucks costs $9.99 on Google Play and Apple. With the new Epic Direct Payment, that will be reduced to $7.99 for the same amount of V-Bucks. This new system is available with full support in some countries, with partial support in others. Full information on this can be found on the Epic Games website.
Those playing on other platforms will also see the benefits of the Fortnite Mega Drop, with a permanent discount of up to 20% now available for V-Bucks packs on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac. The discounts will also be available on the Epic Games website as well.
Fortnite is currently available for free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, iOS and Android. Full information on the Fortnite Mega Drop can be found here.
