London’s Field Day Festival recently revealed their first line-up announcement for its 11th edition in 2017. Following on from last year’s impressive effort, which was headlined by James Blake and PJ Harvey, the organisers appear to have struck gold once again, even at this early stage.

The big name that really jumps out from the reveal poster is Flying Lotus. His 2014 album, You’re Dead!, and the subsequent deluxe variation last year – featuring the talents of Kendrick Lamar and Thundercat among others – garnered significant attention both commercially and critically for the LA-based producer. With an already strong fan base, he will be sure to get the crowd going with both old favourites and new experimental and smooth beats.

Exciting news also comes in the form of UK-festival exclusive appearances for both Aphex Twin and Nicolas Jaar. The former’s Cheetah EP, released earlier this year, includes ‘CHEETAH2 [Ld spectrum]’, which was named one of Pitchfork’s ‘Best New Tracks’ – high praise indeed from that notoriously unforgiving camp. Nicolas Jaar gained many new fans with 2015’s Nymphs and, more specifically, his track ‘Fight’, with the follow-up, Sirens also being well received. The much-travelled New Yorker is surely a name to watch over the next few years.

Other names worth a mention are Midland and Nina Kraviz, ensuring festival goers will be dancing long into the night, while the trio of Haelos, Kevin Morby and Whitney will all be providing enjoyably chilled vibes throughout the day.
