Console Four: The Xbox 360

Years of Production: 2005 – 2016, Final Game: Just Dance 2019

After failing to surge past Sony’s ultra successful PlayStation 2 with their original generation Xbox console (which was released a little later), the US company Microsoft beat the Japanese technology giant to getting their successive next generation gaming system out there first. What did they create? The Xbox 360 – a fine gaming platform with a very well designed controller, a leading online gaming package, and an enviable game library.

Of all those games available, the final title released for it (not just in Europe, but globally) was Just Dance 2019. Yes, it’s another entry in the dance rhythm series – a series that has something of a knack for keeping last generation game systems going that were previously thought to be inactive in the “new software launches” department.

The typical Just Dance content boxes are ticked in this release: A number of top tunes to dance along to, the basic gameplay of mimicking the movements of the dancer seen on screen, plus the visuals with the funky and youthful style are all present and correct. The franchise’s many fans will lap it up regardless of release date, but if dancing related gameplay isn’t something you’re into, then looking at some other games would definitely be a better option. You can get the game here.
