To mark the 10th anniversary of the festival held by Liverpool Waters, Sound City have put together a cracker of a line-up, celebrating their birthday in style. The festival in 2017 will be running between the 25th and 28th May.

Whilst the weekend of the festival will consist of two non-stop days of live music with smaller acts and headliners, large concerts dominated by huge headliner names will be happening on the Thursday and Friday. Kicking off proceedings on Thursday are 80s synth-pop heroes The Human League, who found fame in the early 80s and have continued strongly for approaching 40 years.

In a 2017 European exclusive, Friday’s concert will feature a 50th Anniversary performance of the influential album The Velvet Underground & Nico, by founding member of The Velvet Underground John Cale, alongside yet-to-be revealed secret guest performers.

The main part of the Sound City festival experience will begin on Saturday – electronic alternative group Metronomy are headlining at the start of the weekend, and some of the performers joining them so far include The Kills, Slaves, The Hunna, Carl Barat & The Jackals, and The Japanese House.

Indie sweethearts The Kooks, who are well known for a string of successful albums including debut Inside In / Inside Out and more recent Listen, are Sunday’s headliners. Accompanying them will be White Lies, Local Natives, Milburn, Cabbage and The Sherlocks, with more names to be announced.
