The award winning metropolitan day festival returns to Leeds this year to flaunt the vast range of amazing bands that this country has to offer. Live at Leeds has garnered a huge reputation as a festival that allows smaller bands to showcase their talents, the city has seen the likes of Jake Bugg, Savages, Courtney Barnett and Alt J take to the festival’s stages before their respective meteoric rises.
The festival, which takes place across various different venues across the beautiful city of Leeds, has yet again produced a line up that showcases the best new bands this country has to offer as well as some old favourites. British ‘punk’ duo Slaves top the bill along with Wild Beasts and noughties indie heroes White Lies. While B-Town favourites Superfood will bring their light hearted indie pop to the north, being joined by the their hometown mates Jaws, The Magic Gang, Aussie psych wonders Jagwar Ma and Brighton rockers Black Honey.
Leeds favourites Clay will bring their Jungle-esque indie dance songs to the festival along with highly rated Liverpudlians The Night Cafe and exotic psych quintet Flamingods. With many more acts set to be announced this is shaping up to be an unmissable line up; keep your eyes peeled for future announcements on the festivals official website as well as The Indiependent.
If travelling around a beautiful city and seeing bands on a bank holiday weekend is your kind of thing then you’d be silly to miss one of the jewels in Leeds’ music scene crown. With venues ranging from the city’s O2 Academy to the intimate Brudenell Social Club, you’re sure to find this country’s next big thing in one of the vast array of differing venues participating.
Opening the door for the festival season, Live At Leeds will take place on 29th April and get all the punters ready for what looks to be an amazing summer of live music. Tickets are available from £32.50 through the festival’s main website and can be purchased here.
