Kendal calling announces first line up featuring headliners Manic Street Preachers and Franz Ferdinand.

The multi-award winning Kendal Calling is due to take place from July 27th-30th this year.

The much-loved festival situated in the heart of the Lake District has announced its first set of artists on the bill.

The picturesque site at Lowther Deer Park is set to host famous names including: The welsh trio Manic Street Preachers, veteran of the festival Frank Turner and The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson.

Away from the headliners, emerging talents on the bill include: the indie trio Blaenavon, The South London punk band Shame, and the critically acclaimed grime artist Lolye Carner.

The 12,000 + capacity festival has been held in The Lakes annually since 2006.

Originally held in Kendal (surprisingly) the festival has seen some notable musicians grace its stages in this time such as The Streets, Blondie and The Cribs.

Its remarkable location has seen musicians like the Charlatans’ Tim Burgess return year-upon-year.

The festival now boasts nine stages including The Glow Dance Tent where My Nu Leng, Faithless and Jungle will all be performing this year.

Outright tickets are available to purchase, while a 6-month payment plan is also on offer.
