Sweet Child O’ Mine // Guns N’ Roses

Nearly thirty years after its release, guitar solos still struggle to hit the extraordinary heights of Slash’s epic in ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’. Despite the guitarist’s initial disdain for the song – as it had its roots in a non-committal jam session – his infamous solo has come to rest as one of the best known and best loved in musical history. A phenomenal song in its own right, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ most definitely hits its heights with Slash’s unforgettable solo. Words by Amie Bailey (@amiebailey)
