Fallout: London, an expansive new mod for Bethesda’s Fallout 4, has been released after over five years of development.

The new mod allows players to travel to London, England from the game’s primary location in Boston. It is complete with fully voiced characters and over 200 different quests, adding up to over 90 hours of gameplay.

The official description from Team Folon, the mod’s developers, reads “True to its moniker, Fallout: London takes place in London. From stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a resurrection of the Knights of the Round Table to an uncompromising cult of revolutionaries (and more!), Fallout: London embodies the history and aesthetics of London and puts an unmistakably nuclear spin on the beloved city.”

Fallout: London includes fifteen London boroughs, such as Camden, Westminster, and Greenwich. Notable landmarks features in the mod include the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, and the Houses of Parliament.

Among those lending their voices to Fallout: London’s characters are Baldur’s Gate 3 actor Neil Newbon and the former UK Speaker of the House John Bercow.

However, the mod is only compatible if users have not downloaded the Fallout 4 next-gen update, which was released in April this year. A next-gen version of Fallout London is in development, but there is no confirmed release date. Team Folon has also provided a video with instructions on how to downgrade from the next-gen update.

The mod is available to download for free on PC. There are no plans to release the mod on either Xbox or PlayStation, although the developers’ FAQ says that community members may port standalone items for console use. Epic Games versions of Fallout 4 are also incompatible.

Work on the mod began in 2019, with a planned release date of 23rd April this year. However, this was pushed back when Bethesda announced the next-gen release date. Team Folon said in an announcement video that they did this to ensure that the mod would not break upon release.

Sales of all titles in the series, particularly Fallout 4, spiked following the release of the Fallout TV series earlier this year.

Fallout: London is available to download now from GOG.com.
