Fallout 4 has soared to the peak of Europe’s gaming charts following the debut of the acclaimed Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime Video. The iconic post-apocalyptic RPG, released in 2015, witnessed an astonishing 7,500% increase in sales within just one week, claiming the top spot on the Games Sales Data (GSD) charts, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

This surge in Fallout 4‘s popularity is largely attributed to the success of the Fallout TV series, which has drawn in new fans eager to immerse themselves in the wasteland adventure. This mirrors a trend seen with Hollywood adaptations of video games, reigniting interest in the original games, as seen with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt after the release of The Witcher Season One and classic Mario titles following the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Additionally, steep discounts on Fallout franchise games across PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox platforms, with prices slashed by up to 75%, saw bargain hunters flocking to purchase the game for as low as $4.99. Fallout 4 saw the majority of its sales on PC, accounting for 69% of total sales. This renewed interest also propelled other Fallout titles—Fallout 76, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 3—into the Top 10, with Fallout 76 reaching a new peak concurrent player record on Steam. It boasted nearly 98,000 simultaneous players in April, marking its highest peak since its all-time peak concurrent player count of 471,955.

The excitement doesn’t end here. Bethesda Softworks has rolled out the highly anticipated next-generation update for Fallout 4 on April 25, available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Early reports indicate that the new native PS5 version (1.000.001) requires approximately 56.503 GB of storage and introduces native applications for consoles, offering performance and quality mode settings along with stability enhancements and bug fixes. PC users also received a free update with widescreen and ultra-widescreen support as well as Creation Kit fixes and a variety of quest updates. Players can now experience up to 60 FPS and increased resolutions.

Additionally, PS4 and Xbox One players receive a free update with stability improvements, login and quest fixes, while PC players on Steam and Microsoft Store receive stability, mod, and bug fixes. The update also includes free Creation Club items such as Enclave Remnants, Makeshift Weapon Pack, and Halloween Workshop.

Check out the comprehensive patch notes for Fallout 4 next-gen update. As excitement builds around Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series, and news of a second season in the works, there’s never been a better time to embrace the Fallout universe.
