A dash of MGMT, a swirl of Fryers, a splash of Daft Punk, finished with a liberal sprinkle of Jackson-esque magic… and what do you get? Well, the fruity cocktail that is Great Good Fine Ok’s new EP 2MH2. With funky pulsating beats and techno synths, it is hard to resist breaking out into carefree dance moves on the sound of the first chord, as these four songs extricate any inhibitions you possess.

2M2H was released on the 13th March, and has further developed Great Good Fine OK’s synthpop sound. The band consists of the duo Jon Sandler and Luke Moellman, hailing from Brooklyn. If summer is on your mind, then look no further; this EP is the sweet and sticky ice lolly you’ve been craving since winter forced you to envelop yourself in three coats and a scarf. Comprised of four, hip-swaying tracks, this is definitely an EP to have on repeat, repeat, repeat.

The first song, ‘Too Much Too Handle’ contrasts mildly morbid lyrics with optimistic beats, reminiscent of Foster the People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’. It is also the first, and only, music video on Great Good Fine OK’s VEVO YouTube channel. The video itself reflects the essence of the song, and is worth a watch just to admire the shameless dancer!

‘Without You’ showcases the angelically high vocals and quirky rhythms synonymous with Great Good Fine OK, whilst the penultimate tune, ‘Carried Away’, clearly draws inspiration from the current 80’s trend resurfacing in modern pop, with an ‘Uptown Funk’ vibe throughout (Mark Ronson eat your heart out). The EP comes to a conclusion with collaboration from St. Lucia on ‘Something to Believe In’. The seductive bass and cutting lyrics end 2M2H on a euphoric high, and, overall, leave you wanting more.
