Electronic Arts and Codemasters have announced that F1 2022 will be released on July 1, featuring new tracks, circuit changes and VR support for gamers on PC.
This year’s game comes with the addition of the new Miami circuit, where we will see the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen race for the first time this season.
The game will include ”PC VR functionality via Oculus Rift and HTC Vice”, immersing gamers deeper into the F1 sphere.
All new events such as sprint races will also be available to play, along with this season’s updated car style and appearance.
Fans favourite Alex Albon will make his comeback in this year’s game, racing for Williams; while we also welcome China’s first-ever F1 driver, Zhou Guanyu to the grid.
Realism has always been at the forefront of EA and Codemasters games, and this year is no different.
“Alongside the real-world changes, we have updated the physics to accommodate the new aero rules and reworked the tyre model, making the handling more true to life,” said F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, Lee Mather.
With even more customisation, racing fans will have the ability to create their own style of race and change gameplay options.
As seen on last year’s game, the ’MyTeam’ game mode returns, as well as the two-player career, so you and your friend can battle it out on track.
F1 2022 can be pre-ordered now, and if done so before May 16, those who choose the Champions Edition can enjoy three days of early access along with other in-game rewards. It will be available to purchase on PC, Xbox, and Playstation.
