According to BioWare, there are currently no plans for a Dragon Age: The Veilguard DLC with the team currently working on delivering a ‘complete’ game.
In a recent interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays game director Corinne Busche was asked about DLC or Expansion content for the upcoming title. In response, Busche advised, “We wanted to make it the most complete, out-of-the-box package we possibly could—from the player experience, the narrative—everything else”. She further clarified that working on a complete Veilguard experience was “entirely our focus right now” but it was “hard to say what the future holds”. So while there are no current plans for DLC or expansion content it doesn’t sound like it’s entirely off the table.
While Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC Trespasser was generally well received, the DLC received some criticism that the story of Trespasser, which served as something of an epilogue to Inquisition, was so integral to the narrative – it should have been part of the main game. In her interview, Corinne Busche also criticises this, stating “…Trespasser is so central to the Dragon Age: Inquisition story that arguably maybe that should have been part of the base game”. It appears BioWare is aware of the criticism of the previous game and has adjusted its strategy accordingly.
With the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard just a little under a month away on October 31st the first reactions and more details are beginning to emerge about the game. Be sure to stay tuned for further coverage as the game’s release grows nearer.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on October 31.
