Show Me Love // Robin S

To put it into perspective: my music taste rarely ventures outside guitar music, and my favourite albums have always sat somewhere along the ever-diverse indie spectrum. So it’ll come as a surprise to learn that Robin S.’s club anthem ‘Show Me Love’ is up there among my favourite songs of all time. ‘Show Me Love’ is simply a classic, and the fact that it is outside my preferred genre of music will never change this.

‘Show Me Love’ is one of those songs everyone knows the words to on a night out, which is probably why it has been described as a ‘Liverpool anthem’ before now. The atmosphere is exciting when this is played in town, and snippets of so many nights come flooding back when I hear the 90s techno beats of the introduction. No matter how many times this song has been covered, the original will always triumph – although drunk dancing to Clean Bandit’s version at Leeds Festival is an exception. ‘Show Me Love’ is effervescent, electric, and I hope future DJs never forget it.
