Disney’s Broadway Hits, which was filmed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016, will be available to stream on Disney Plus from 2 July 2021.

The Disney musical extravaganza features songs from Tony award-winning scores including Aladdin, The Lion King, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, and Mary Poppins. It showcases some of Disney’s greatest talents by composers such as Alan Menken, Elton John, Tim Rice and Phil Collins.

Hosted by entertainer John Barrowman, the concert line-up includes the West End cast of Aladdin and the show’s composer Alan Menken, as well as West End and Broadway stars Scarlett Strallen, who was previously in A Chorus Line, and Trevor Dion Nicholas, the original Genie in the West End production of Aladdin.

The performance will also feature Ashley Brown, who played the titular role in the Broadway production of Mary Poppins, and Merle Dandridge, the original Kala in Broadway’s Tarzan.

The Disney classics are accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, which is conducted by Keith Lockhart.

Disney’s Broadway Hits concert was first performed in 2016 in London’s Royal Albert Hall and returned in 2019 following great success.

The show received positive reviews, with London News Online stating it was “an evening of magical delight”.

WhatsOnStage gave the concert a four-star review, applauding the “selection of finest vocalists in the world”.
