A host of celebrities have teamed up to perform a Christmas variety show online this December.
Set up by TV star Denise Welch, We Need a Little Christmas will feature a cast of famous faces including Simon Callow, Dame Maureen Lipman, David Bedella and many others. There will also be musical performances from the cast of musical A Christmas Carol and The West End Gospel Choir.
Filmed at the historic Actors’ Church in Covent Garden, the funds raised by the Christmas variety show will be donated to charities Shelter and Crisis in their efforts to help people in need over the Christmas period.
The show is produced by Thomas Hopkins and Michael Quinn of Ginger Quiff Media, who have donated some of the proceeds of other productions to charitable causes. In a statement, Hopkins and Quinn said “we are delighted to have raised, to date, over £40,000 for multiple charities through our productions this year.”
“We hope [the show] will be a very magical event this festive season, both on stream.theatre and Broadway On Demand.”
We Need a Little Christmas will be available to stream online at stream.theatre and from the 20th December to the 1st of January. Tickets can be purchased here.
