The cast of Netflix’s most watched series Wednesday have officially revealed we will be seeing a new member of the Addams family joining the show for season two.
Fans went wild as Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay) and Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin) made a surprise video appearance at Netflix’s annual Tudum global fan event in São Paulo. Discussing fan theories following the mind-blowing season one finale, the cast addressed the speculation surrounding the introduction of a new Addams family member.
Although they’re unsure of who’d be joining the show, the cast happily confirmed that we will be lucky enough to see more of the creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky family. “I’d love to see Cousin Itt,” revealed Ortega, while the others took a liking to Grandma Addams making an appearance on our screens next season. The confirmation of a new family member is an exciting one, with the newest addition likely to join guest stars Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams) in recreating the classic Addams family interactions we all know and love.
Spoilers for the upcoming season were few and far between, with Myers addressing that “Wednesday season two is being worked on right now and the storyline is so top secret even we don’t know what’s going to happen.” You can watch the cast’s Tudum video appearance below:
Season one of Wednesday followed Wednesday Addams who struggles to adjust to life at Nevermore Academy until she is caught up in a thrilling murder mystery. After premiering on Netflix in November last year, the show became an instant hit with a second season announced shortly after.
Despite no official announcements on season two’s plot, Jenna Ortega has recently disclosed that the newest instalment will take a new direction from the first season, focusing less on Wednesday’s love life. Following the success of season one, we can safely assume that the next season isn’t going to disappoint.
The first season of Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
