Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty will collaborate with The Walking Dead as part of their plans for Season Two of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III. The games will be part of a launch on February 7th which includes new upgrades, crossovers and exciting new additions for existing fans.

Across both games, by purchasing the Season 2 Battle Pass, you unlock The Walking Dead‘s Rick Grimes and Call of Duty campaign character Kate Laswell instantly. There will also be a CDM pack featuring Michonne – “Let ‘em Cook” – available from February 8th to celebrate Black History Month.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was only released on November 10th last year, but in the two and a half months it’s been playable it has already introduced high-profile characters from TV and film such as Firecracker and A-Train from The Boys and Paul Atreides from Dune: Part TwoThis is part of a move from Activision to provide players with fresh content and with the crossover between TV and film, it’s been praised by fans as a “bold move.”

This content drop will create anticipation for fans as there is a The Walking Dead: Fear the Living event which is taking place February 28th to March 6th to coincide with the premiere of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live on February 26th. The event created by Activision is part of Modern Warfare III and involves a series of challenges for players to earn rewards and compete in multiplayer matches to earn XP.

Activision has so far confirmed there will be 10 rewards in total to unlock throughout the whole event for players to enjoy. The characters involved will once again be Rick Grimes and Michonne, which ties in nicely with The Ones Who Live as the premise involves the pair attempting to find each other in another world built on a war against the dead.

As well as characters, there will also be new weapons, multiplayer maps and offerings of ranked play across Modern Warfare III and Warzone – a huge content drop which gives a sense of the direction Activision wants the Call of Duty brand to go in. With such a colossal offering for gamers and The Walking Dead fans, the content drop on Wednesday as part of Season Two is set to be a success.
