Title: Lamb To The Slaughter
Author: Roald Dahl

What I think so far: Despite this only being a short story, it’s definitely in contrast to what we would typically expect from a Roald Dahl novel. This one is certainly not for children. The story focuses on Mary Maloney, a normal housewife, whose husband returns from work one day with the news that he is leaving her for good. Without spoiling the story for anyone, the unexpected yet magnificent dark twist is only one which Dahl could have imagined.

Would I recommend? Fans of Dahl and fans of dark humour should absolutely read this. It is bizarre yet brilliant. While it is only short and will barely make a dent in your reading time, it is worth reading. The story can also be found in his Someone Like You collection of short stories, which is definitely also worth a read.
