Billie Eilish has partnered with Global Citizen on their Just Vote campaign, joining her brother Finneas, Taylor Swift, Usher and DJ Khaled.

The nonpartisan campaign urges young people in the US to register to vote and turn out at the political polls. In November, the country is to hold “the most important election of our lifetime,” according to the Just Vote website.

Just Vote engages and rewards young voters by offering the chance to win unique and exclusive experiences and memorabilia from artists, with entry for prize draws only available upon voter registration.

Fans have the chance to win signed merchandise from Eilish, including a vinyl, hoodie and t-shirt. Other prizes include a virtual meet and greet with DJ Khaled, a virtual dance lesson with Usher and his choreographer, and a signed guitar from Taylor Swift.

“This election is the most important election of our lifetimes so far. It’s never been more important to vote. Stay engaged, and let’s all get to the polls.”

A note on Billie Eilish’s website.

In 2016, 43% of eligible voters did not vote in the Presidential Election, according to the Just Vote website. Encouraging young people to vote could have a significant impact on the outcome of the 2020 Election, or at least provide a more representative result.

“We believe that voting is a cornerstone of democracy and a fundamental right for Americans, and we want to be sure that every eligible voter’s voice is heard in our mid-term and general elections.”

Just Vote aims to engage 1 million voters and get young people registered before state deadlines. The campaign is part of Global Citizen’s ongoing partnership with HeadCount, a grassroots civic partnership organisation which has been using culture, music and media to engage and register voters since 2004.
