In a post on the game’s itch.io page, InnerSloth introduced a major update coming to Among Us. Among the new features mentioned in the dev log are bigger lobbies, a new meeting screen and a new intro. The biggest change, however, is a new art style that will be introduced with the new patch.
The developers were quick to assure fans that “it’s not too different from what you’re used to”, just cleaner lines and other animation improvements.
Another major part of the update will be increasing the lobby size, from the current 10 player limit to 15. Players will also get six new colour options for customising their crewmate. InnerSloth said that alongside this they are committed to improving the accessibility options and eventually “hope to move away from colours being the defining way people identify each other.”
The developer notes also mentioned a new meeting screen for the larger lobby size being in the works. As well as that the developers promised “a new intro when meetings are called that accentuates the information between the reporter and who exactly died between rounds” and shared a concept image of what it would look like.
For the final update, InnerSloth said that it’s also working on revamping its whole website to give players a more centralised space for future updates and news.
At the moment, there is no information on the date of the next update. However, the developer made it clear that it hasn’t stopped working since the last major update which introduced the much anticipated new Airship map.
The good news for Among Us fans don’t seem to end there though, as it was also recently announced that the game will be coming to PS4 and PS5. During its latest PlayStation State of Play, Sony confirmed that Among Us will be available on console later this year together with an exclusive Ratchet & Clank skin, hat and pet.
