The release date for AEW: Fight Forever, the upcoming video game from All Elite Wrestling, has been officially confirmed by THQ Nordic and Yuke’s Media Creations.

On hand to announce the release date of June 29, 2023, was Kenny Omega, Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling and former AEW World Champion who also serves as one of the game’s Creative Directors. He thanked fans for their patience while they developed a game which, according to Omega, will be “easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master.”

There had been some confusion over the game’s release date after there were conflicting reports of what was delaying the game’s release. While Omega and AEW CEO & GM Tony Khan stated at the start of 2023 they were just waiting on ESRB ratings and the game was finished, THQ Nordiq senior community manager Per Hollenbro tweeted that this wasn’t the case, and the game wasn’t “100% done” at the time.

AEW Fight Forever will include a full career mode, a wide range of customisation options – covering wrestlers, ring attire, entrances, teams, and arenas – and a whole host of match types to test player’s skills, including ladder matches, the Casino Battle Royale, falls count anywhere matches, 3-way and 4-way matches and even Lights-Out and Exploding Barb Wire Death Matches. The game was first announced back in 2020 during a special AEW Games event, with the first gameplay released in June 2021.

Speaking about the game’s upcoming launch, Tony Khan said that “With Fight Forever, Kenny and our world-class team have delivered an authentic, nostalgic feel of wrestling games past, along with the unmatched creativity that AEW brings to the table. It’s going to be cool to see our fans finally getting a fresh and much-needed alternative next-gen console wrestling game on June 29.”

Pre-orders are available now via the THQ Nordic website.

AEW: Fight Forever will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC from June 29.
