Atlus have confirmed the new title will be delayed in a new trailer.
The RPG social sim had been intially scheduled for a 2015 release but a new trailer, shown at Tokyo Game Show, confirms the move towards a mid 2016 release.
Explaining the delay, the game’s chief director Katsura Hashino, said it was to ensure the game matched expectations with it’s final product.
The game follows a high school student in Tokyo who moonlights as a burglar with his ‘personas’ – manifestations of aspects of his own psyche – and will be the first release in the primary series since 2008’s Persona 4 on PS2.
Persona 5 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2016. Watch a preview trailer below.
