Cyberpunk 2077 update creates game changing bug

A new update from CD Projekt Red Cyberpunk 2077 creates a bug in the game that disables one of the main story quests. This quest is fundamental to the game leaving gamers unable to progress with the rest of the game.

Since the release of the game last December the game has seen heavy criticism on its performance on last-generation consoles; PS4 & Xbox One, with CD Projekt Red offering refunds to customers unsatisfied with the game, however since the release they have been tackling some of the issues players have been experiencing, with the latest and biggest update; patch 1.1 causing a game-breaking bug.

The bug halts the mission Down on the Street. The mission starts with a phone call from Takemura, however the bug does not allow this call to happen. Recent players have now said that Takemura will call, but won’t speak. Players have tried creating new game saves and exiting the game and waiting for the call again, however this does not fix the issue.

One player has since figured a way around the issue, suggesting you should call Judy, a side character first, then hang up on Takemura when he calls, followed by doing some side quests. The player who found this workaround tackled the Delamain side quest and lastly, wait 24 in-game hours for Takemura to call again allowing you to progress.

The initial patch was the biggest patch done so far to the problematic game. CD Project Red had offered a work around to this bug, but have since offered a hotfix to this bug with patch 1.11.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, with the next-gen update scheduled for 2021.
