The Barn Theatre has this week announced that they will be streaming their 2019 production of Daddy Long Legs over the Valentines and Half Term weekend.

It is based on the classic novel by Jean Webster, which inspired the 1955 film starring Fred Astaire.

Daddy Long Legs is set in New England at the turn of the 20th Century. It tells the story of an orphan and her mysterious benefactor who funds her college ambitions.

The production stars Rebecca Jayne-Davis and Ryan Bennett as the lead characters, and features music by Paul Gordon. Other credits include director Kirstie Davis, set and costume design by Gregor Donnelly, musical direction by Charlie Ingles, lighting design by Sam Rowcliffe-Tanner, and sound design by Harry Smith.

The onstage band comprises of Alex Crawford, Rosalind Ford and Charlie Ingles.

The play originally ran at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester in late 2019, marking the first time that a UK theatre had produced the award-winning musical.

The recording will be available internationally from 12 February, with tickets and a fill list of times available here.

The news comes after the Barn Theatre also announced their new production of The Picture of Dorian Gray, which will run from 16 March. It also follows their recent online runs of Marry Me A Little and Peter Pan, directed by Kirk Jameson. The Barn Theatre has managed to attract over 330,000 viewers to their online productions in the past year.
