OffWestEnd have announced the nominees for their annual Off-West End Awards.

The awards, also known as the Offies, is an event intended to celebrate small scale and independent theatre productions across London, run by OffWestEnd.com.

A digital ceremony will be held on the 21st of February to reveal and unveil the awards to the winners. This year features a new category, referred to as  the OnComm Award, which will celebrate online productions that have arisen as a result of theatre closures last year.

Because of the closures, some awards were unable to be awarded due a lack of sufficient contenders. These included costume/video design, best opera, best choreography, and best new musical.

Geoffrey Brown, OffWestEnd Director, said “in spite of live theatre being closed for most of 2020, there were still some fantastic shows at the start of the year, and between lockdowns, and OffWestEnd is delighted that we are able to recognise and celebrate the best of this work.”
