London-based indie-pop duo Dust In The Sunlight round off a surreal year with an atmospheric take on The Strokes’ hit single ‘Hard To Explain’.

With a perfect balance of euphoric harmonies, the duo teamed up with Essex-based producer Tom Donovan to curate a beautiful blend of soft instrumentalism and lilting vocals. The duo contains singer-songwriters Billy Wright and Annie Rew Shaw who’ve perfected the cover with their own, personal touch.

The track was released on 27th November via record label Project Melody and has already attracted glowing reviews from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, CLASH, Record Of The Day and Radio X. The Strokes gave us a carefree, indie-rock classic with the original track but Dust In The Sunlight made it their own. Rather than the usual stark sound of indie-rock, the cover contains stylish vocals with a blissful sense of emotion.

From the influence of Joni Mitchell, Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens, the rising indie-pop pair have created a stunning narrative of how it feels to end a strange year. Unlike the gritty original by The Strokes, Dust In The Sunlight have given us a soft, reflective version more suitable for ending a tough year like 2020.
