Since the release of his debut EP ‘Boneworks’ in September last year, 18-year-old indie rocker Dexter Henry Millest has been actively performing around the UK, offering up latest track ‘Who Knows Best’ to fans. Initially featuring on a BBC Introducing session, his new single ‘Who Knows Best’ has a fresh acoustic-funk impression only enhanced by the Herefordshire natives’ ability to connect wholeheartedly to his lyrics. With the help of producer Joseph Bornoff, Millest thrives in his quest for a unique build up.

Welcoming the listener is a guitar strummed intro and Millest’s chilled vocals singing “Oh I’ll let you see/ the green and cultured life.” As the song progresses the singer-songwriter’s objective is clear – chastising his “dear” for wrongly making assumptions about him; “You said I was too bold to recognise that something went wrong”. At the minute mark, we’re introduced to a funky warped guitar, adding some much needed layering to the overall sound, which doesn’t deduct from his heartfelt vocals and sweeping mellow arrangement.

You can catch Millest live at the Underground Festival at Gloucester Guildhall on Sunday 27th September. For details check out his Facebook page.
