Exeter Northcott Theatre has announced that they have broken box office records with their upcoming Christmas Production of Treasure Island.

The Exeter venue has a limited capacity and will be enforcing social distancing in the audience. In spite of this, the venue recorded a massive drive in sales on the first day of public sales.

Director Daniel Buckroyd said “the safety of our audiences is our number one priority so we’re planning for people to be able to sit together in bubbles. We’ll be working within the latest guidelines and putting measures in place so that our audiences can return to the theatre with confidence and enjoy a great live experience.”

The hilarious version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island was created by Exeter based comedy group Le Navet Bete. A celebration of local talent, Treasure Island is sure to be fun for the whole family.

There is bound to be some apprehension, but if the sales of Treasure Island are anything to go by the public is ready to return to theatre.
