Reading and Leeds Festival, every music lover’s bank holiday destination, have revealed their 2021 lineup.
After the cancellation of their 2020 festival, Reading and Leeds wasted no time in announcing the lineup for 2021.
Melvin Benn, the managing director of Festival Republic, spiked the attention of fans by organising six ‘headliners’ this year. Each day will have two designated headliners, divided across two ‘Main Stages’: Main Stage East and Main Stage West.
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, he also announced that five of these six headliners will have their headline debut in 2021.
So, without further ado, here is next year’s Reading and Leeds lineup…
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher was a confident pick from Festival Republic. He’ll be performing on the same day as festival royalty Queens of the Stone Age.
Another 2020 headliner Stormzy will grace the same stage as Wales’ own Catfish and the Bottlemen. We’ll also have electro veterans Disclosure alongside Post Malone, who’s making an appearance for the third year in a row.
Lewis Capaldi will be featuring, alongside Two Door Cinema Club, AJ Tracey and Doja Cat. Their set times will be announced at a later date.
A couple of days after their initial announcement, RandL also released five new acts, including Charlic XCX, Youngblud and Sigrid.
However, Festival Republic have seemingly not learned from their past mistakes. After receiving criticism not 6 months ago for not introducing a gender-equal lineup, next year’s lineup has issued a similar response.
Festival Republic has not released an official response to their online backlash.
With tickets only released yesterday, there is still plenty of time to see first hand if Reading and Leeds will be returning to its former glory.
