Track Review: Be Mine // The Covasettes

After the well-received release of ‘Spin’, indie-rock band The Covasettes punch back onto the scene with newest track ‘Be Mine, released July 24th.

The Northern group are relatively new to the headlines: stirring up interest early this year, and long-listing the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition in April. Comprising of Chris Buxton (lead vocals/guitar), Matt Hewlett (lead guitar/vocals), Jamie McIntyre (bass/vocals), and Matt Buckley (drums/percussion), the Mancunian outfit propel themselves further into indie-rock-lovers’ good graces with four minutes of heady fizz.

Strong beats, curling guitar riffs and a drawling lead-vocal are the main components to this instant indie anthem: close your eyes and you’re in a sweaty basement venue. ‘Be Mine’ is a slick, smooth, and prowling track that is set to dust off the number one spot on your Spotify most-loved. After listening to this track I, for one, will be adding The Covasettes to my to-watch list.

‘Be Mine’ was released July 24th on all major streaming platforms.
