Track Review: Voodoo // Art of Sleeping

Australian five-piece indie rock band, Art of Sleeping have released their latest single ‘Voodoo’ and it’s killer. Much like their previous hit ‘Crazy’, this track embodies the group’s love of layered arrangements and pop riffs, fans have come to expect from the Brisbane boys.

Straight off the bat, we’re introduced to an eerie reverb of the synthesiser, followed by some very controlled percussion, notorious guitar riffs and a gentleness from the piano keys holding its own amongst the instrumentation. Lead vocalist Caleb Hodges makes just about anything sound sinfully suggestive, and with each chorus he soothes the aches of the broken hearted, effortlessly crooning about the mixed feelings that come with unrequited love.

Art of Sleeping have announced their massive Australian tour, with nine gigs to be played across the country – along with their highly anticipated debut album, set to be released mid year.
