Single Review: Vice // Little Grim

London-based band, Little Grim are a mix of neo-psychedelia and rock. Their new single ‘Vice’ is set to be released on iTunes on the 23rd of February, but is available for preorder right now.

‘Vice’ starts off rather calm with a catchy guitar riff which is soon followed by a syncopated drum beat, making it sound quite messy but still pleasing. This carries on for a little while which really creates a solid atmosphere for the rest of the song. When the vocals and second guitar do come in, there is already a good ambience for it to fit into.

Dynamically, the song is very engaging as there are some cases of just vocals and drums, or just a heavily distorted guitar. These changes really bring up the song, making it sound even more impressive. There is a faint lead guitar part which is heard around halfway through the song, and it was disappointing that there it didn’t feature more heavily in the song.

All in all, Little Grim are a very promising band and ‘Vice’ is a cracking track. You can keep up to date with their music on their Twitter or Facebook.
