Single Review: Danger The Club // Palma Violets

The dawn of a new Palma Violets album is finally upon us and Zane Lowe has just premiered the eagerly anticipated lead single: ‘Danger In The Club’, on Radio 1.

The track does seem considerably more thought out and professional than their previous hits, but as soon as their trademark sound of a jangly guitar riff sets in, it’s classically Palma Violets. The heavy bass line and rugged chanting of co-frontmen, Sam and Chilli, makes for a perfectly stand-out garage rock anthem and something tells me this is going to be the very one to bellow along to at live shows this year.

Although the buzz and success of their debut album 180 was always going to be difficult to follow up, The Palma Violets have executed this one perfectly, and if ‘Danger In The Club’ is anything to go by in terms of what this year’s album is to sound like, we could have a good one coming up. Shambolic – sure, but definitely one to watch out for.
