Track Review: Stranger // The Rebel Light

The Rebel Light describe their sound as “hazy, retro sounding, South Californian indie” and the track ‘Strangers’ from their debut self-titled EP can certainly lay claim to this label. The three piece band comprised of two brothers and a “long lost cousin” manage to perfectly capture the sounds and rhythms of a Californian summer with a distinct psychedelic vibe, from the dreamy vocals to the clashing symbols.

Despite being recorded in a bathroom and wood shed, ‘Strangers’ sounds incredibly polished with a gorgeous Lana Del Rey-esque video to match.  It’s a tremendously vibrant track, reminiscent of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and could easily become the soundtrack to any spontaneous road trip or lazy evening on the beach this summer.

‘Strangers’ is released on 24th July 2015. For more updates like The Rebel Lights on Facebook or follow on Twitter.
