The winners of the 2020 BAFTA Games Awards have been announced. Due to be held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the awards were pre-recorded and broadcast on streaming platforms as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Outer Wilds won the award for Best Game, as well the Original Property and Game Design awards, with Observation winning Best British Game. Disco Elysium also won three awards, including Best Debut Game, with Luigi’s Mansion 3, Untitled Goose Game and Apex Legends also among the winners.
BAFTA’s highest honour – the Fellowship – was awarded to iconic game developer Hideo Kojima, celebrating his decades of work in the gaming industry from the Metal Gear franchise to his work on Death Stranding, which was nominated for 11 awards and took home the award for Technical Achievement.
