‘So Easy’ is the second single by London-based rock band Red House Glory, and proves once again that this four-piece is definitely one to watch. Beginning with a steady but pounding drum beat coupled with a jangled guitar riff that soon crashes into a howling, angst-ridden confession of inner turmoil, the song sees the band branch out from the pure rock aesthetic of their debut single ‘Living a Lie’ into more melodic – if not slightly more morose – territories, with a bit of grunge thrown in for good measure.
The rock and roll is still in there, though: the lyrics, as well as the accompanying video, almost seem to echo that of an addict, trapped in a cycle of sordid relationship after sordid relationship as front man Lewis Knaggs repeats the chorus line, “It’s so easy / to be loved by you again”. Having already played a handful of sold out headline shows, expect big things to come from this band. Their EP, Heart of Gold, is out now.
