Peppered with images of blood and bondage, the latest track from Heavy Petting Zoo maintains the same surf rock vibes as their previous work on ‘Crash on the Too Pure Singles Club’. So not to worry goth children of the world, who don’t want to compromise their aestheticism while riding the waves: this Swansea quartet (and their dancer, Jon!) have got your back. ‘Isabelle’ features strong vocals from frontwoman Amy Zachariah, whose attitude and anger seems like an amalgamation of 70s English punk group X-Ray Spex and the Riot Grrl movement. An intense dosage of surf rock rhythms surge throughout the body of this track, as a result of which you’ll be able to have your own hard-core dance-fest to the single, without fear of having to halt your teenage angst for one moment.
