Gaming News: E3 2016 – Pokemon Go Release Window Announced

The AR Pokemon title is scheduled for a summer release.

Nintendo have announced the release window for Pokemon GO, the company’s upcoming augmented reality game. During the Nintendo Treehouse Live event at E3, it was announced that the game is planned for a July release.

In the game, which is being developed with Niantic Labs, players will use their smartphones to track, capture, battle, share and train various Pokemon. The developers have recently been field testing the game in various international locations, including America and Australia, with some of the results being shown at the demonstration.

Also announced was details of the Pokemon GO Plus, the hardware device that goes with the game. With a US price of $34.99, the wearable device will allow players to use the game without having to check their phone for information. The device will be able to buy separately when the game launches.

Pokemon GO will be available on iOS and Android devices from July 2016. Watch the presentation in full below.
