In the ten years since its inception, Bilbao BBK Live has played host to some of the biggest musical talents known to man. From Green Day to Guns ‘n’ Roses, Kings of Leon to The Cure; the seaside town has been rocked by the sounds of the industry’s biggest and best throughout the last decade.

Now, with the festival season starting to kick into gear at long last, it seems fitting to mention just a few of the acts coming to Spain in July that are set to make sure the profile of this festival keeps on rising.

Father John Misty

Also known as Josh Tillman, the former Fleet Foxes drummer has been on a practically non-stop, mammoth world tour following the 2015 release of his second album under the Father John Misty moniker, I Love You, Honeybear. With his interactions with fans and press alike often laced with biting sarcasm, wit and a healthy pinch of cynicism, the Maryland native is undeniably charismatic, even if this does represent a contrast to the bitter-sweet, country-folk mix that contributes to his self-inspired tunes about love and heartbreak. Although his latest release stands slightly aside from his first offering, with some Jazzier, heavier tunes, and even some electronic undertones giving the record a fresh, new feel, Tillman has a tried and tested formula that has been working to enchant fans and critics alike for a long time now, and on this mega tour Tillman will undoubtedly have continued to hone this into a quite incredible live spectacle that will undoubtedly be in full flow when he hits the coast of Spain next month. And the resulting show will be one that no one in Bilbao will want to miss.
