With just five weeks until the highly anticipated Liverpool Sound City takes to Bramley-Moore Dock, It’s fast approaching and with ticket sales shooting through the roof, you’ll need to act quickly if you want to be a part of this year’s action.

With the final line up announcement to be made next week and the day schedules coming soon, The Indiependent are giving you a quick run down on everything we know so far…

What is Sound City all about?

Sound City always manages to catch the buzz bands just before they hit the big time and mixes them with the best of the bigger and more established names in music, which always makes for the best of festival line-ups. Previous acts have included: The Flaming Lips; The Vaccines, Kodaline, Royal Blood, Everything Everything, Wolf Alice and Calvin Harris.

So, what’s this year’s line up like?

We’ve all heard statements about festivals creating their “best line up ever” but it’s fair to say that this year, Liverpool Sound City really have created an amazing line up- they have the rocketing ticket sales to prove it! Plus, with a mix of bands from The Dandy Warhols to Crows and even a Hot Chip DJ set, Liverpool Sound City have achieved diversity and have created something ‘a bit different’ which is always good to see at a festival.

Alongside headliners, Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Coral, ticket holders are in for a treat with other acts in the line-up including Pete Doherty; Bill Ryder Jones, Palma Violets, Sleaford Mods along with local lads, Circa Waves. Sound City are also champions of new music, with The North Stage holding host to an array of new and hyped bands like The Big Moon, Kagoule and Judas. But, if it’s something a bit more upbeat you’re after The Baltic Warehouse venue has you covered- with loads of DJ sets from the likes of Mount Kimble, AME and DJ Koze heading into the early hours.

Frontman of The Charlatans, Tim Burgess has also just revealed the Tim Peaks Diner line up. It will feature interviews hosted by John Kennedy and Dave Haslam from Radio X and then bands and DJs in the evening. Bands performing will include the hotly tipped and new Manchester band, Cabbage.
