The run-up to spring has seen a slew of upbeat indie-pop acts vying for places on summer playlists, and on the face of it, Satellite Stories seem to be just one among many – but there’s something about this Finnish four-piece that snagged our attention. ‘Vagabonds’ is the lead single from their album of the same name, and it puts a refreshing twist on standard indie fare.

Certainly, the sing-along chorus is in the vein of Two Door Cinema Club or Foals, but the sparkling, almost sitar-like opening and beautifully discordant final chord give the track a zingy originality that’s hard to come by. With a long run of European dates ahead of them, and their third album making pretty big waves in the blogosphere, Satellite Stories are clearly on the up; their joy-infused, sun-bathed sound is perfect for getting you into the festival season mood, even if they’re not headlining just yet.
